It actually seems that it frequently happens roughly around the same area on my daily commute home. My car is cozy in a garage during the night, but after sitting in my cold work parking lot during the day, it seems to have the issue the most on the way home. The issue has escalated to the point where it almost happens daily. It definitely tends to get worse when it's colder (20F-40F). I've had this issue off and on for the past year or so now with my 06 Dodge Magnum R/T AWD. I think I will try looking for bad grounds and replace the headlight switch. It may have happened when my seats were on but I really don't think that is the only reason because I don't keep them on very long.ĭoes anyone know what the "Power Module" is? In my case it happens even in the summer. It was a short in the heated seats that overloaded the power module and caused the gauges and headlights to keep resetting. But in their case it was happening when the heated seat was ON. Others have told me it might be a heated seat issue. I'm thinking I should start by replacing the headlight switch BUT I have no clue if that's the issue. It SEEMS if I leave the headlight knob in the normal ON or OFF position it does not happen as much BUT it still happens. If I turn the headlights back to the manual ON position then the head lights turn back ON. If this happens at night the headlights also go out. When I stopped to get gas a few hours later and restarted the car, 4 cylinder mode was working again. I then noticed it was no longer running in 4 cylinder mode. A few months while ago on a long trip it did it for about 15 minutes straight. So I don't think its connected?Īll the idiot lights go on and off. When I bought the car in 08 I did the headlight modification to the headlight knob so it will go one more click counter-clockwise so they come on automatically when it gets dark out. I live in Cincinnati and cold/damp is normal this time of the year. It also seems to happen more often when its cold or damp out. This happens A LOT now! At first is was just random once or twice over a 4 month period. ![]() I have had this same issue! I have an 06 Daytona.
